Lucy Cohn

Lucy CohnA Member for more than half her life, Dr. Lucy Cohn has seen the Museum grow into the institution it is today, which she calls "a gift, a jewel—a perpetually growing gem." She served as a nurse in WWII and became a Member after she married Norman Cohn and moved to Milwaukee. Dr. Cohn is a practicing psychologist and still sees patients almost every day. In 2000, Lucy and Norman Cohn became part of the Museum's Legacy Society. Legacy Members enjoy access to exclusive President's Circle events and programs, as well as recognition in Museum publications and on the Legacy Society Honor Roll in Windhover Hall.

Why did you become a Member?
We couldn't see everything all at once—we needed more time to get to know the myriad items in the Collection.

How has the Museum changed over the years?
It has grown in stature. I have watched our Milwaukee museum become an international museum and an integral part of our community.

Why did you decide to support the Museum as a Legacy Society member?
It is a joy to give back when we have gotten so much pleasure from the Museum. It's a wonderful feeling to be at least a small part of it. It has been a great source of learning in our lives. We added our name to the Legacy Society list with the hope that it might serve as a catalyst for others to give.

What do you enjoy most about the Museum?
Joyfully sharing a day at the Museum with my guests who come from out of town. It's always a successful place to bring guests.
